Voy a comentar un pequeño truco para evitar tener que instalar en nuestro equipo Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 y poder utilizarlo sin ningún problema para nuestro sistema operativo, de esta manera los programadores podrán hacer las pruebas pertinentes sobre la versión 7 dejando instalada por defecto la versión 6. Los pasos a para poder utilizar sin instalar son los siguientes:
- Primero descargamos la versión del IE 7 Beta 2 de la página oficial de Microsoft,
- Creamos una carpeta en nuestro escritorio con el nombre que queramos, por ejemplo IE7,
- Copiamos el fichero que hemos descargado dentro de la carpeta y pulsamos con el botón derecho sobre él y elegimos la opción de Extraer aquà de WinZip/WinRar, según el programa que tengamos instalado. Esto comenzará con la extracción de todos los ficheros de IE7 en la carpeta.
- Seguidamente buscamos el fichero shlwapi.dll y lo eliminamos,
- Depués creamos un fichero que llevará por nombre IEXPLORE.exe.local. Es importante que tenga por extensión .local y no .txt o no funcionará,
- Ahora podemos ejecutar IE con iexplore.exe, y
- finalmente pulsamos con el botón derecho sobre iexplore.exe y seleccionamos enviar a… - **Escritorio (crear acceso directo).
Ya nos queda sólo disfrutar de las novedades de Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2… y ver si nos convence ;)
Hola. Solo un pequeño matiz. Hay una errata en la explicación que puede hacer que muchos piensen que el truco no funciona. Y es que donde dice ‘que llevará por nombre IEXPLORER.exe.local’, deberÃa decir IEXPLORE.exe.local (le sobra una ‘R’). Sucede lo mismo cuando dice ‘ejecutar IE con iexplorer.exe, y finalmente pulsamos con el botón derecho sobre iexplorer.exe’ donde en ambos casos vuelve a sobrar una ‘r’.

Pero es seguro ese metodo, la ultima vez que instale IE7 beta 1 me jodio todo el windows, perdi IE6 y tuve que formatear porque desgraciadamente lo necesitaba…

Lamentablemente no me ha funcionado correctamente. El IE7 arranca sin problemas, pero al intentar utilizar el IE6 no tuve éxito. Arranca y me abre otra ventana, no permite cerrarse correctamente, tampoco me ha dejado navegar.

En efecto, se carga el ie6, asi que resulta igual si instalaste el ie7beta o hiciste el truco, no puedes usar el ie6.
Si necesitas el ie6 para trabajar o algo asi NO HAGAS ESTO.
Serìa buena idea probar las cosas antes de transcribir los artÃculos nada mas. Do your homework.

He estado probando los mismos pasos en otro equipo y tras ello he podido comprobar que IE6 e IE7 son totalmente compatibles y funciona, puedo usar ambos. También es cierto que gracias al post de Rodrigo (no saqué de ahà Rodrigo el truco) he podido ver que existen numerosos problemas en diferentes equipos con configuraciones distintas. Por ello he investigado y en la misma página que pone Rodrigo (gracias fenómeno! ;) hay un hack en el registro que soluciona el problema y podremos arrancar tanto el IE6 como el IE7 a la vez.
En un rato saco un post con la solución al problemilla.
Otra cosilla por el comentario de Alex, te puedo asegurar que pruebo todos los trucos y más de una vez me he cargado el sistema operativo al ejecutar código de una procedencia no muy fiable. Este truco lo probé y en ambos equipos me funcionó, supongo que posiblemente las caracterÃsticas del hardware más el software que tenemos instalado influyen como resaltan en algunas páginas en el funcionamiento adecuado, por ello IE7 se encuentra en fase beta. Alex te prometo que lo probé pero si no te funcionó en el próximo post lo hacemos funcionar ;) gracias por tu comentario.

Pues la verdad es que yo lo he hecho tal y como viene en el artÃculo y no he tenido problemas en usar los dos a la vez. Aunque la verdad, me quedo con mi firefox ;)

se puede encontrar el modo mas seguro, aunque incómodo, de ejecutar IE7 en modo standalone sin que se joda cualquier IE previamente instalado.
si se siguen los pasos descritos por jose miguel (lo digo por experiencia) el IE6 tendrá un comportamiento impredecible.

Hola, vuelvo a repetir que este truco me ha funcionado sin tener que hacer cambios, ni ajustar el registro, al igual que a otros usuarios, por ejemplo Esp, en cambio a otros les dio error. Repito este cambio está probado en varias máquinas con diferentes configuraciones, diferentes aplicaciones, etc… y no me dio problema salvo en una de ellas y por ello puse la modificación del registro en el siguiente post con lo que se arregló y ahora puedo funcionar con los dos.
Por ello otra opción para solucionar el problema es el comentario que te he hecho en el siguiente post
Si no se resuelve asà envÃame si quieres tu configuración e intentaré ayudarte con ello.

El problema lo he tenido al eliminar la carpeta de IE7 pues no me ha gustado, ahora mi IE6 No funciona, ni siquiera el restaurar sistema. Alguien sabe como recuperarlo??
